ART BASEL, MIAMI BEACH - PART II
The global art tribe’s ritualistic week of impressing, chatting, and sublimating was an unpredictable storm of incredible art and impeccable curation throughout surprisingly crispy Miami.
With seemingly endless fairs, packed parties, and countless off-site installations to explore, Art Basel Miami has transformed into a vibrant, sprawling celebration of form, surprise, beauty, banality, and authenticity. ANARCHY DAILY experienced the opening of the ICA Miami, Margulies Collection, and the rebirth of the Bass Museum during its 60th anniversary celebration. We witnessed synchronous conversations about wealth transfer, the future of art, and museum dynamics at the Convention Center featuring notable figures like Bridget Finn, Judd Grossman, Solita Marcelli from UBS, Jeni Fulton, Harmony Korine, Hans Ulrich Obrist, and Klaus Biesenbach.
We also attended the PERROTIN x PIN-UP party and Silencio take over of the basement at the EDITION Hotel; explored alchemical showcases at SCOPE, UNTITLED, and Art Miami; enjoyed Villa Albertine and the FilmGate Interactive Media Festival; and marveled at Salomé Chatriot's stunning performance. The mystical and materially complex compositions of Vickie Vainionpää captivated us, while Hayal Pozanti’s mesmerizing sculptures and Pieter Schoolwerth's super-scintillating works left a lasting impression. UuDam Tran Nguyen’s ambiguous "In God We Trust" sculpture and numerous other nerve-wracking yet inspiring pieces transported us into realms of visual ecstasy, cryptic meaning, and decorative magic. Below are the images and impressions that blew our minds.
