‘THE QUANTITY OF THE VOID’ BY CHIARA CAPELLINI

Artist Chiara Capellini explores emptiness - a central theme in her artistic practice. Her latest exhibit, ‘RIEN N’EST RIEN – The Quantity of the Void,’ showcased amidst the books in Alexandre Sap’s Librairie Rupture, delves into the concept of the vacuum in theoretical mathematics.

Capellini’s method involves stripping away elements from her paintings and drawing parallels to concepts in quantum physics, mathematics, meditation, and religion. She focuses on the concepts of zero, set theory, and the Planck constant.

This exhibit is a continuation of her recent show in Venice during the Venice Biennale, which focused on emptiness in quantum physics and included a talk with theoretical physicist John Ellis.

The Elephant And The Blind Men

Organized by Zuecca Projects, Venice and in collaboration with Rupture Arts & Books, the exhibition is on view at mesmerazing Le Corbusier’s Cité Radieuse in Marseille from 18 July to 24 August 2024.
